How to Buy Solar
Solar Nation provides the information you need, so you can make the ownership decision that's right for you
Solar Nation takes a complex process and makes it simple. Beginning with an introductory meeting to assess your electricity needs, understand your goals, and answer your initial questions, Solar Nation will help you discover how your financial, marketing, and environmental goals and objectives can be met by installing an on-site solar-electric system.
Transparent, participatory process
During this initial discussion, Solar Nation will assess your site to determine available space (roof / ground / parking area), shading, and the location of the existing utility service and will factor in your power consumption to the determine the system size that your facility can support and use. Solar Nation will also explain and discuss the financial rebates and incentives available in your area and ask questions about your organization’s financial performance and tax liabilities to determine the value of the available incentives to you.
Reaching consensus with your financial advisor on the option that is right for you
With this information, Solar Nation will prepare financial models, detailing your options, and will work closely with your CFO or CPA to reach a consensus on the ownership option and financial model that is best for you. Once you and your advisors have settled on an ownership option, Solar Nation will complete preliminary engineering and prepare a proposal, which will include:
- Conceptual rendering of the proposed system
- Detailed preliminary technical system specifications
- Estimated energy production on an annual basis
- Estimated utility savings
- Detail of available government incentives and rebates that will be available
- Detailed financials showing economic performance of the system/investment
- Detailed scope of work
- A list of value-enhancing warranty and guarantee options
- A list of optional value-enhancing services
Acceptance of a proposal is accomplished with signing of a letter of intent (LOI) that includes the above project details. The below Road to Solar details all the steps from introduction to commissioning and project completion.
