Monitoring, Service & Maintenance
Whether it is a Customer Owned solar-electric system or a Third-Party Owned system, Solar Nation’s systems require minimal scheduled maintenance, typically including semiannual cleanings and biannual visual inspection, including thermal heat scanning of all components. On the rare occasion when there is system event or the system is underperforming, the system owner or the system owner’s representative will be alerted by email.
Customer Owned Systems
Solar Nation’s systems are designed, engineered, procured, and installed to last a lifetime and to provide the highest quality and best value in the industry. Our systems require minimal scheduled service and maintenance, typically including semiannual cleaning and biannual visual inspection and thermal heat scan of all components.
Each Solar Nation installed solar-electric system includes an integrated state-of-the-art monitoring system that makes managing solar easy, providing access to performance data over the web, continuously checking system performance, and providing alert notification if there is a system event or if the system begins to underperform.
Each Solar Nation installed monitoring system is configured using sophisticated algorithms that predict system performance based on detailed final engineering. By comparing predicted performance with actual performance, the monitoring system automatically senses system events, such as a component failure, or if the system and system subcomponents are not performing optimally, and sends out alert notifications. The web interface then provides detailed information to help identify the problem and formulate an appropriate maintenance response.
If you would prefer to outsource monitoring, service, and maintenance, the integrated monitoring makes outsourcing easy, providing Solar Nation technicians with web access to system performance data and email alerts. Under terms of a Solar Nation Service and Maintenance Agreement, Solar Nation takes care of all monitoring, servicing, reporting, and maintenance, doing everything required to keep warrantees and guarantees in force and ensuring that the system performs optimally.
Service & Maintenance Agreement
Solar Nation offers comprehensive, cost-effective monitoring, service, and maintenance support, including continuous monitoring and alert notification and annual reporting. Under terms of a Solar Nation Service and Maintenance Agreement, Solar Nation does everything required to keep warrantees and guarantees in force and to keep the system performing optimally. Solar Nation Service & Maintenance Agreements are required for Solar Nation’s Extended Warranty and for Solar Nation’s SolarShield® Production Guarantee.
Third-Party Owned Systems
In the third-party ownership model, the customer (typically the building owner) leases space to Solar Nation or a Solar Nation affiliate and the customer, or the customer’s tenants, signs a 20 year agreement to purchase power at a 20%-30% discount off current utility rates. Solar Nation then builds, monitors, services, and maintains system for the duration of the power purchase agreement.
