Paul W. Hodge, Chairman
Mr. Hodge is the Company’s standard bearer — the embodiment of the Company’s core competencies — and a founder.
Mr. Hodge has spent 19 years launching startups ranging from technology companies to manufacturing and distribution companies. In 1992, Mr. Hodge co-founded Design Automation, a robotic manufacturing technology service provider. In 1996, Mr. Hodge founded Index Home Systems Inc., formerly known as Smarthome Inc., which marketed and sold home-energy efficiency, automated lighting, smart security, and home audio through a network of electrical contractors and national home builders. In 2007, Mr. Hodge was engaged as the President of a laser manufacturing company, where he increased revenues by 700% and brought the company to profitability.
Outside of business, Mr. Hodge has been an avid mountain climber, climbing many of the world’s most demanding ascents. (He is pictured on the Company page, on the face of the Alps.) Mr. Hodge carries imperatives of mountain climbing, including vision, risk analysis, risk taking, goal setting, tactics, technical skill, focus, endurance, teamwork, enjoying the journey, and celebrating success, into his business endeavors.
Dan Drummond, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Drummond, another founder, is responsible for the Company’s strategic vision, business development, and execution. He was previously the Company’s president, responsible for legal affairs, human resources, communications, marketing, and government relations. Prior to his work with Solar Nation, Mr. Drummond was a founder and ultimately Chief Operating Officer and Chairman of the Board of Ameranth Wireless, a developer of wireless handheld applications for the healthcare and hospitality industries. Mr. Drummond graduated from West Point, where he later taught, and was the Chief of U.S. Army Public Affairs in New York, a senior public affairs officer in the Pentagon, and a military affairs advisor to CBS News.
Kerry Rea, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Rea manages the corporate financial affairs of the
Company and is also the Company’s secretary and treasurer. Mr. Rea is responsible for
maintaining the Company’s financial controls and reporting procedures. Previously, Mr. Rea
served as Chief Financial Officer of Znomics, Inc., a publicly-held biotech company, from
November 2007 until February 2010 and is currently a member of the Board of Directors. Mr.
Rea was a consultant from 2006 to November 2007. From 2004 to 2006 he served as Vice-President and Controller of AccessLine Communications, and served in various consulting roles
from 2003 to 2004. From 1997 to 2002 he was Vice President of Finance and Vice President
and Controller for Electric Lightwave. Mr. Rea is a graduate of Oregon State University,
B.S.B.A. and Portland State University, M.Tax.
Paul Anthony Hodge, Sr., Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Hodge is the Company’s chief scientist and engineer and a founder. Mr. Hodge manages all of the Company’s scientific, technological, and engineering activities, including the design and engineering of systems and the preparation of plans. Mr. Hodge brings over 30 years of experience and expertise in pneumatics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering, 3D virtual prototyping, monolithic hybrid design, thick-film hybrid design, laser-technology design and development, and robotic technology design and development, including work on the Space Shuttle, B1 Bomber, and Tomahawk Cruise Missile. Mr. Anthony has won national and international industry trade association new product of the year awards, and has international standing as an innovator of high-efficiency, high-speed, low-cost manufacturing solutions. He is credited with the development of revolutionary, disruptive technologies for the blow-molding industry, cooperage industry, laser industry, and architectural tile production industry that replaced traditional manufacturing methods and spawned new products. Prior to joining Solar Nation, Mr. Anthony was the founder and CEO of 3Score, Incorporated, for which he developed a laser reactive, commercial-grade, color art-tile process.
