
Carlos has been a social entrepreneur for 20 years and a practicing psychiatrist since 1988. A Kellogg National Leadership Fellow, Carlos is cofounder of SEED (www.seedimpact.org), an organization that creates tools and supports community agencies for community organizing and leadership development. In 2009, he founded SolarNation to apply his experiences in leadership development and community organizing to the issue of climate change.

Mr. Owens is a Brooklyn resident with over 25 years in community organizing and community development. He has experience in philanthropy (Ford Foundation), government (NYC’s Office of Financial Empowerment), and with various local and national non-profits. Mitty was a Kellogg National Leadership Fellow. He is serving on the advisory board.

Mr. Banthia, founder of renewable finance advisory firm Offset Renewables, provides financial structuring and strategic support to SolarNation. Harshul has previously worked on a number of community based financing solutions including various solar crowdfunding initiatives. He brings expertise in project modeling, feasibility analysis, deal structuring, diligence, and securing capital.


A practicing psychologist and published author, Claudine will oversee the creative arts programing that will be an early community engagement strategy to remove engagement barriers through the arts.
