The Angry Sky – by Claudine Nash

“Kite Weather” by Carlos Monteagudo (Oil on Canvas)

“I choose to be part of SolarNation because I believe that as much as we have damaged the earth, within our words, our art and our actions we will find our inherent power to heal it.”

THE ANGRY SKY
                  by Claudine Nash

We went as far as
the car would take us,
but couldn’t slip
past the sky’s

rage. The trees
tossed blame at
each turn and the

bird’s four-letter
rant made our
ears blush.
It would break

your heart to hear
the tidal flats holler
(never mind what

the salt marshes
echoed).

Meanwhile, the
North Sea endured
such a bad acid

stomach,
all it could do
was spit carbon.
